Happy New Year! Cardiff City House of Sport is now back open following the Christmas break. Please read below for important information regarding new COVID-19 restrictions.
As we re-open our doors again, it’s important to take note of the new set of restrictions imposed by the Welsh Government prior to the Christmas break, following the rise of Coronavirus cases in Wales. The restrictions that apply to House of Sport are as follows:
From 26 December 2021
- up to 50 outdoor and 30 indoor spectators can attend community sports events
- 2 metre social distancing will be required in offices and all public premises
- a maximum of 6 people can meet in public premises
- licenced premises will need to take additional reasonable measures to protect customers and staff
- a maximum of 30 people can attend indoor events and a maximum of 50 people at outdoor events
Cardiff City House of Sport are legally bound to abide by these new set of restrictions until we receive further guidance and instructions from the Welsh Government.
Additional guidance includes:
- get both jabs and when invited, get your booster
- limit your contacts
- outdoors is safer than indoors
- do a lateral flow test before seeing others
- if you have symptoms, self-isolate and book a PCR test
- wear a face covering

Social Bookings
Cardiff City House of Sport will also be postponing “social” bookings until restrictions are eased again. “Social” bookings refer to bookings that are not “organised” by a sports club or organisation.
All clubs and organisations must provide COVID-19 risk assessments to be signed off by CCHOS staff, otherwise the booking cannot go ahead.
Our bookings coordinators will be in touch from today (4 January) to contact affected bookings.
Sports Governing Bodies COVID-19 Updates
Sports governing bodies in Wales with their own specific set of rules and guidance will also be in place at Cardiff City House of Sport (if updated following the last WG announcement). For example, football sessions will be in accordance with FAW guidelines. Please click on the links below for more information.
