“We’ve been using the facilities at House of Sport for almost a year now. We use the 3G pitch for football training. In the last year we’ve noticed improvements to an already fantastic venue. The management team are always improving its facilities to make it a better experience. The recent update to the parking has been welcomed.

What really makes the HOS the venue of choice for us is the members of staff.  Nothing is too much to do. They are fully trained to assist with any injuries and always on hand with first aid.

Credit goes to Rod (Facility Assistant) and Jo (Executive Director) who really make it a pleasure to use such a fantastic venue in Cardiff.

House of Sport really is the best facility in Wales and one we look to use for many more years.”

“South Wales Police FC are participating at the World Police and Fire Games which takes place in New York from 26th August 2011. We’ve been extremely privileged to have had the opportunity to prepare using the excellent facilities at the Cardiff City House of Sport. We can wholeheartedly endorse the facility and unreservedly recommend their use. We look forward to returning during the forthcoming season.”

Rob Cronick, Team Manager South Wales Police FC

“We’ve always had difficulty in finding a suitable winter training venue so we were delighted and surprised to be able to secure a slot at the new prestigious Cardiff City House of Sport.

With an average of 24 U15 boys attending each weekly session, all players and coaches have found the indoor facilities even better than we expected with an excellent 3G playing surface, adaptable pitch layout, comfortable airy atmosphere, good location and parking, and very helpful staff.”

Chris Evans and Ritchie Lapton Cogan Coronation AFC (U15)

“We were struggling last winter with so many games called off due to the weather and with even our astroturf training facility unplayable at times, we were delighted to be able to use House of Sport where they gave us a great welcome and the facilities are superb – way beyond anything the players had been used to previously. It made such a difference to the players & management to be training on a Football League quality surface, that we took a block booking that everyone is convinced was a big factor in the winning run which propelled us back into the promotion race.”

David Jose, Vice Chairman Dinas Powys FC

“In 2012/13, Sport Wales awarded a Development Grant of £50,000 to establish a ball sport hall at Cardiff City House of Sport Ltd based in Leckwith, Cardiff.

House of Sport, although linked to Cardiff City FC, is intended to engage with several sports, not just football, to also include basketball, futsal, netball, korfball, wheelchair rugby and wheelchair basketball to name a few. The project overall has been a huge success with increased participation in all sports catered for and a particular increase in basketball and women’s football. The project also has good engagement with BME groups and continues to go from strength to strength.

Cardiff City House of Sport Ltd presented a considered and inclusive approach to the project which allowed greater participation in a range of sports whilst also engaging groups from the community who previously wouldn’t have had the opportunity to use facilities such as this.

House of Sport has clearly demonstrated its ability to plan, produce and deliver on proposed project outcomes and outputs.”
