House of Sport are hiring for the role of a Receptionist & Bookings Assistant:



Job Title: Receptionist and Bookings Assistant
Location: Cardiff City House of Sport
Reporting to: Office Manager and Facilities Operational Manager
Responsible for: Front of House and Bookings
Rate of Pay: To be confirmed


Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift Pattern:

  • Monday: Day Off
  • Tuesday: 12pm to 8pm
  • Wednesday: 12pm to 8pm
  • Thursday: 12pm to 8pm
  • Friday: 11am to 7pm
  • Saturday: 9am to 5pm
  • Sunday: Day Off

Core working hours will be 40 hours per week; Tuesday to Thursday 12pm to 8pm, Friday 11am to 7pm and Saturdays 9am to 5pm with 1 hours paid lunch break. However, on occasion these days and times may vary to meet the needs and requirements of the Company’s business.


Purpose of the job:

The Cardiff City House of Sport is a high quality indoor 3G and multi-sport training facility in Cardiff. Due to recent and further expansion plans, the company is looking to recruit a Reception & Booking Assistant to be based in Main Reception at the Cardiff City House of Sport, Clos Parc Morgawwng, Leckwith Cardiff.


Job Responsibilities:

Booking and Receptionist Responsibilities:

Including but not limited to:

  • Input bookings onto booking system – EZ Facility, following procedures
  • Understand and nurture existing client relationships
  • Conduct follow-up booking procedures
  • Maintain client database records
  • Liaise with clients regarding payment options
  • Handling payments including banking

General Responsibilities:

Including but not limited to:

  • Answering telephone calls
  • Manage general email enquiries
  • Keeping accurate records of calls and taking messages when required
  • Hosting – Tea and Coffee. Facility tours to potential customers
  • General office appearance
  • Responsibility of handling all daily Mail and Postage
  • Assist any face to face enquires
  • Good use and understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point software

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Excellent communication skills and telephone manner
  • Can work very well both independently and as part of a team within a fast-paced environment
  • Computer literate with high attention to detail
  • Pro-active approach


This role is brought to you through Itec. Itec is a leading provider of work-based learning programmes and uses its ongoing strategy to bring young people into work. Due to this, the candidate must meet a certain age to be eligible for this role.  They must be between 16 and 19 years old and not in any form of education.
