On Sunday 27th March, the Cardiff University Cardiff Half Marathon returns to the streets of Cardiff. As a result, entry to Cardiff City House of Sport via car and public transport will be extremely limited.
One of the top endurance events in the UK, this is a major sporting event for our city with 25,000 runners from all over the world taking part and is Wales’ largest fundraising event with over £3 million raised annually.
The race will start outside Cardiff Castle at 10:00am with road closures in place beforehand. The finish line is on King Edward VII Avenue, outside the Temple of Peace.
Update (26/03): Sloper Road will be closed approximately from 9:00am until 11:30am, affecting access to our site on Clos Parc Morgannwg. Our colleagues at Cardiff City Stadium have kindly allowed access to the away compound car park via Leckwith Road / Retail Park entrance on Sunday morning.
Other roads affected in the area include Wellington Street and Penarth Road, limiting access to Cardiff International Sports Campus. Please find alternative routes to access this facility.
Ocean Park Arena users, please note that Tyndall Street and Windsor Road will also be closed from approximately 9:00am until 1:15pm, limiting access to Ocean Way. Willows High School will remain unaffected.
We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. Please note that the event will fall on the first day of British Summer Time, when the clocks go forward.
